Dauphin Island, located off the coast of Alabama, is a premier destination for both inshore and offshore fishing. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just starting out, Dauphin Island offers a variety of fishing opportunities that are sure to satisfy.
Inshore Fishing:
Dauphin Island's inshore waters are teeming with a variety of fish, including speckled trout, redfish, flounder, and sheepshead. Inshore fishing is popular year-round, with peak seasons occurring in the spring and fall. Anglers can fish from the shore, piers, or charter a boat to explore the many creeks, bays, and channels that make up the island's inshore waters.
Offshore Fishing:
Dauphin Island is also a popular destination for offshore fishing. Anglers can target a variety of fish, including red snapper, grouper, amberjack, and tuna. Offshore fishing trips typically take anglers out to depths of 50 to 100 feet, but some charters may venture further out to target larger fish. Offshore fishing trips are typically available from May through September, with peak seasons for specific species varying throughout the summer.
